@‎ @Junes @Mysterious charmer even if you don't care for infrastructure and want to be off-grid etc. the government owns all the land and will only auction it off (pretty much directly to developers to subdivide) when they have plans to develop said infrastructure - the only time there's ever been anything like the homesteading act / government incentive for people to buy and develop their own land has been for mining towns - but even then you're only getting a suburban sized backyard in a desert shithole where rio tinto or bhp is your only job prospect.
