I think to some extent, privacy and social life is a trade-off. Even if hypothetically you get all your friends on Graphene talking on Marmot, the weakest link is still the human element... Posting a picture publicly that can be location-doxxed, overheard conversations at a coffee shop, etc.
The ultimate privacy is being a hermit in a cave. Maybe this is the life for some, but not for most.
What I like to do is gently introduce the idea of better solutions, so people at least know they exist. Just using SMS? Maybe try Signal. On Discord? Maybe try Matrix, or this Flotilla thing on Nostr. People need to know the options are out there, and eventually they'll come over.
