I recently saw an old Burda knitting & crocheting magazine from the 1970s—and a couple of their patterns were as form-fitting as your top.

Checked the instructions to see if the garments had dart-equivalents*, et voilà: They had!

I do enjoy it when these forgotten/neglected techniques get new attention, so thanks for your efforts!

* instructions included how to shape the garment to achieve the 3D effect darts would have if these were sewn garments
