Rudolph Steiner (we're talking circa WW1 here) identified electricity itself as the force that would be used to create a demonic global kingdom. For anthroposophists (his school of thought), electricity is categorized as a *sub-earthly* power— this is one of those terms that are in the bucket of "for those that have ears let them hear". In occult terms (i.e. we're about to get even weirder) this electricity is in the domain of Ahriman, a vastly poweful demon who is one third of an unholy trinity of demons that we intuitively simply call "the devil". We would say that electricity, by its sub-nature (not by its nature) is inseperable from centralization: to speak plainly, there is a demon weaving this web.

The opposing "force" to electricity, in anthroposophy, is what they call Imagination. Imagination, used in this sense, isn't Walt Disney or Spielberg or Harry Potter. It's almost an anti-electricity force (not sub-earthly but super-earthly), and it is in the domain of the Archangel Michael. To connect with the feeling of this idea, you might think of Jesus being tempted in the wilderness, denying all earthly power.

This *imagination* as a counter "force" is an extraordinary frustrating answer for people looking for real solutions to a real battle we are facing. There's a lot of depth here (at least to me), but on its surface the pairing (electricity and imagination) is absurd.
