The telecoms privatisation was for real, but done in the most-retarded way possible. And let's not even talk about the obvious grift that was the highway toll system. Or why Angie suddenly needed to invite the entire world to move here and get comfy, as if Germany were a global refugee camp run by the mafia.

And then they kept bailing out corporations during every crisis, and the corps did the only sensible thing and spent the money buying back their own shares and issuing bonuses because of the fantastically high share prices.

Oh, we know where the money went and who has it...

It’s strange, the same story keeps on repeating. I am no fan of Richard Branson but when Virgin ran a lot of the main rail routes they were actually run very well, and you could buy very reasonably priced advance tickets.
