Most bitcoin conferences are struggling with attendance.
It’s partly because it’s a bear market, partly due to interest in AI, but I would argue if you’re a builder now is the absolute best time to go to a conference.
The people who show up during bear markets are the true builders. The ones who are in it for more than just the financial gains.
So far this year, I’ve been to @BitcoinMedellin , @BTC Prague , two @My First Bitcoin unconferences, @BITCOIN is for EVERYONE (May 22-23, 2026) , @Camp Nakamoto (my favorite event, hardly a conference) and @Bitcoin Magazine Vegas.
Unfortunately I will miss a great one in Vancouver next month: @learningbitcoinfdn
But I will be in Surabaya, Indonesia for the My First Bitcoin unconference and Bitcoin Asia in Hong Kong. Make sure to reach out and say hello if you’ll be at either of these in August.
