Welcome to the Education Network, Bitcoin Center Seoul! 🇰🇷

In Korea, most people first meet Bitcoin through exchanges and price charts. Bitcoin Center Seoul set out to change that: a real place in Hongdae, open every day, where anyone can walk in, ask questions, learn at their own pace and try self-custody with their own hands.

They teach in small in-person sessions of up to 16 people, from beginner classes and self-custody workshops to a multi-week protocol course for developers, now in its second cohort. Add monthly developer meetups, a newcomers’ meetup, a library of Bitcoin books in Korean, and events paid in sats so people use Bitcoin as money from day one.

That is exactly what the Education Network exists to support. Independent educators, empowering others, in their own language and their own city.

My First Bitcoin is restructuring around its Education Network: a smaller team, lower costs, and a single focus—empowering those who empower others.

This is how we scale the mission: we will make it easier for bitcoin educators to get started, and likelier for them to succeed, by building the materials, infrastructure and community a global movement needs. This is the final step in a years-long transition from direct educator to global infrastructure.

My First Bitcoin becomes what the movement needs its center to be: lean, focused, and in service of 213 independent educators and 80+ education projects across 48 countries, each teaching or preparing to teach their own community, in their own language, on their own terms.

The whole My First Bitcoin team is now fully dedicated to growing this Education Network.
