Nope. (IMO.) Because a client by itself isn't going to overcome the chasm of expectation built up over decades (or a significant portion of one's life of they are younger) of programming on "normal."...

But isn’t the self-selection you’re describing partly a consequence of the current friction? If you removed some of that friction, wouldn’t you simply find out whether there are more competent and curious people out there who never made it through the door?

The friction is internal to the person, not so much the protocol. Think about it: you open a client, create new keys, and then you're free to do whatever. Most people can't comprehend what to do with freedom. You don't need to ask permission or to appease anyone. That's hard for people to swallow o...
