How many Nostr clients have implemented accessibility features for people with disabilities — such as image alt text for the visually impaired — in the three years since this post? If not, why not? I thought we wanted to #grownostr and onboard the world.

@Zap Cooking just added it today using NIP 92 media attachments metadata (imeta) tags. It’s live on the web, and rolling out to Android and the upcoming iOS TestFlight over the next few days.

This image has alt text. If you can’t see it in your client, consider submitting a feature request to support it. There’s no excuse for Nostr to be so far behind every other major platform and protocol in this area. We already have the tools to build it.
