It is also the best thing to happen to bitcoin. Nothing can be built on a foundation of sand. And in hindsight it has become clear, that simply using a hardware wallet that you got from some podcaster...

The cold wallet was the "simple to follow best practices".
I don't think anyone had signalled any doubt on the coldcard.

I always found Jade to be simpler, and I'm more at peace because it's fully open source, and I generated some keys outside of the device.

But I'll be honest, I used to think more highly of people with a Coldcard.
