Yes, the powers that be allowed violent gangs to run the country for a very long time. And now they allow Nayib Bukele to run the country.

I understand perfectly well that Salvadorans prefer Bukele to the gangs. In the end, it’s simple. If you or your family members can be murdered or raped just because they leave the house, it’s understandable that people want change. And I also understand that pretty much any change is welcome as long as the raping and murdering ends.

So, when the government sends out the message that “If you do exactly like you’re told, you are going to have food on your table, and we are not going to throw you into our maximum security prison”, well… people like it. And I get it.

It’s very different kind of violence nowadays -- no privacy, the government decides what kind of haircuts kids can have, If you look suspicious you are going to lose your rights, etc. -- but it’s still the threat of violence that keeps the country “safe”.

And the citizens are not allowed to defend themselves, which is a huge red flag. Historically speaking, the state is the worst mass murderer.

The craziest part is that Bitcoiners are okay with this. And many even carry the torch for their dear leader, Bukele.
