I chose a Bosch. It was more expensive than the Chinese brands, but not super expensive. Try and find something that if it breaks down you are not crying too much.

Normal refrigerators can easily be repaired and have easy to obtain replacement parts. Expensive refrigerators are pretty, complex, difficult to repair, and costly in both time and money when it comes to obtaining replacement parts.

White-goods are all trash, expect to replace it every 10 to 15 years. American made commercial grade is superior, but probably is less aesthetically pleasing, in particular, the fan and compressor noise. One can also purchase commercial grade washer and dryer.

Normal refrigerators and freezer units don't break. If you take good care of them they can last a lifetime. The simpler the better. Got ones from 30+ years ago that are actually still cranking along. Newer manufacturers can't use the old banned R-12, R-17, R-22 but these actually work better.
