Czech pop music in 2026
Two mainstream pop songs, both duets, were released within a month, and it‘s one of the strangest czech pop music moments I have ever experienced.
20-30-something girls are doing this “whatever” tiktok song, that sounds like its boring itself…
…while 50-70-something ladies (that blond one is 78!) are partying in da club across the street to an old Aretha Franklin banger.
And please note these women are no joke. All four are widely considered the best of czech scene, sitting on top of all kinds of czech „grammys“ since forever (🎶 and ever 🎵), with careers not only in the mainstream pop, but also musicals or acting. I personally have a lot of respect for them.
But I really can‘t decide what kind of emotions I feel watching these two songs trending next to each other.
Although I‘m closer to the young ones, if I had to choose, I guess I‘ll go with the mamacitas. 🤷🏻♂️🪩🕺🏼
