Back in the 90s it used to be common to see pickups just driving around with the tailgate down because of the myth that it improved fuel economy. Mythbusters proved it doesn't and it just faded away.

Flock cameras have me thinking about bringing it back.

You could be hassled for hiding your plate I suppose. That could be mostly solved by driving around with an emotional support 2x4 longer than your bed strapped in as a reason for the open tailgate.

Any thoughts on this plan from the hive mind?

I remember seeing some famous person that wore a jacket that was like super reflective so it would ruin all the flashed paparazzi shots. I feel like just making a license plate frame out of that same material might have the same effect on those cameras

Does your state not have license plates on the front? Maybe you could install an incredibly bright infrared light on your plates instead

They don't search just by license plate. "2005 ford with 2x4" will find you. That's what's so fucked up about this.
