One thing that always gets me excited to play RPGs isknowing that the person running the game can barely be arsed to do so.

@nprofile1q... Isn't it all basically due to DnD 5e popularity and at the same time ifficulty of running it. Which then leads to "DM shortage" issues, people being burned out and looking for any way to avoid the cognitive load which then spills to all other parts of the hobby due to central role DnD 5e has.
