My 2 sats.. Not a single one… too many electronic systems integrated and they are all designed to “protect the occupant” instead of be robust Better to invest into a late 90s classic that has been lovingly cared for by a single or second owner… knowing you’ll have to invest time and ener...

Example… imo best vehicle ever made is 96’-98’ Land Cruiser HDJ80 diesel… it’s what I’ve been rebuilding for over 18 months now… but there are lots of gems from the late 90s and early 2000s that are great vehicles that are worth paying good money for as they are road legends and will a...

Toyotas for south america are still rock solid, specially land cruisers. It is only in the US that they have to put imax theaters, spa heated seats and banana split wifi blenders in them to make them palatable for the market.

I’m no car expert, but Kia is great these days. I drive the AWD Seltos, and the larger Sorrento is also nice. Hyundai are basically the same cars with different names. Also can’t go wrong with a Subaru.

Cars are crap now cuz “it’s all computer”.

If you live in an area that uses salt, a Ford-150 with the aluminum body is hard to beat. In new england the limiting factor for vehicles is the rust. My truck is 11 years old, has 140k, and the bodywork looks brand new still

Everyone gonna say Toyota, which is no longer true. I follow car care nut on YouTube who is a Toyota specific mechanic and his personal new toyotas are breaking a lot. Reality is, there were some great cars made in the mid 2010s and they’re proven at this point. That’s where I’d focus.

In the US Pre-2014 with minimal gulag tech (remote start, satellite, telemetry). On engine, my mechanic swears by 2006 +/- one generation land cruiser engines as being hard af, reaching 400k-500k miles with ease.

You said being made today so new, the japanese are really to only place to look. Mazda suv’s and the perennial Honda, Toyota - everything they make. Avoid 1st year “new generation” vehicles. Takes about that long to work out kinks in parts and production. 95-05 is a sweetspot in reliably a...

Honestly it depends on the make and model and where you live. I’ve seen some crappy and amazing foreign and domestic vehicles. Depends on if you need a truck or car, family size, does it snow a little or lot, and what your budget is. I’d say wait another 5 years - the best car hasn’t been bui...

None today, if you want a used car that will last. Honda is the way to go
