Specifically I am using:

* Service config files have clear, easy-to-write syntax (shell scripts don't count)
* Per-service per-boot structured queryable logging
* Tracks service processes and cleans them up when the service stops
* Services have dependencies
* …including on devices
* Central API for suspend, wake locking, shutdown, etc (logind)
* Auto service restart
* User services
* User session tracking, with a way to list sessions and the processes in each session (systemd-cgls)
