In a nutshell: because you are relying on others to hold your DNS and content entirely meanwhile nostr only requires that you bring a private key. You have the optionality of backing up your own data by running a relay or subnet of relays or letting the community augment that partially or entirely.

all i know is, cryptographic identities are central. i mean, look at the whole pgp architecture. we haven't even yet fully seen this, revocations, split auth/encryption.
