Chipper is the most important power tool on a homestead after a chainsaw. Essential tool for me. Amazing for disposing of large amounts of woody wastes and turning it into mulch/compost.

At our #allotment, I pile up the branches and other hard-to-compost stuff twice a year, and burn it in a bonfire. I then mix the ash back into the ground.

Some dead wood is good for biodiversity, so... In some cases, being lazy is good for you and you don't need to do anything.

I just make biochar with it.
