Oh ya, definitely a Nostr-wide issue. I previously used Amethyst as well and same issue there. Though I was able to avoid the issue in the past by connecting to my own relay that would multiplex notes...
I could optimize this a lot if we disable like counts, that's really the hog, maybe I'll add that option
