Dead wrong right here. The paragraph just assumes that all nodes were in favor of 110 for the argument.

No no. You misunderstand. It's assuming that BIP110, while having a small minority of node support, had at least as much node support that BIP148 had. It also assumes that the miners activated SegWit because of the threat of a UASF from a small minority of nodes. Sorry if I didn't make that clear in...
