The main lesson, which I should have known if I had paid attention to the world, is that most people don't want to talk in a "public square" or about abstract topics to strangers on the internet.
This leaves us with a clear path to adoption, which is also not a new discovery, but still worth repeating: small communities.
The original vision of Nostr wasn't really this one, and it's not that exciting as becoming the public square of the internet, and most people will still not be interested in small Nostr communities at first, no matter how great they are, but still I think it's still one approach very underexplored.
The good news is that Nostr is well positioned to deliver on it. Much more than any other Twitter clone out there, by the way, because we have relays with arbitrary rules and we don't worship an idealized fully flat global state paradigm.
