Lots of people still want to talk about abstract concepts with strangers on the internet. They're all on Twitter (for now at least).
Many of them are deluded enough to think that Twitter is just "what people are talking about," i.e. some avatar of the general zeitgeist.
For others, it's simply the only place they can find people to talk about current events or developments in their particular slice of the world / culture.
People still want "that". 99.999x% of them have just never heard of Nostr, and the rest have tried it and rejected it for various reasons.
