This is why Nostr is so powerful.

Although not as good as @SimpleX Chat but it has a crucial feature - it's accessible for progressive web apps. One HTML file served and you can use decentralized infrastructure.

Because it's very possible that non compliant apps will be kicked out of the stores. And that unfortunately means zero network effect. Alt stores or apks are just not used enough to matter for chat apps.

It's great that there are workarounds but I think PWAs are not a mainstream thing either

Unfortunately, freedom tech isn't profitable nor is it something that will make somebody millions. However, it is our passion and it is rooted in our values and so it is something that we must continue using and developing.

I can tell you that every phone in my circle of influence that gets replaced has direct positive implications for my security as I make it my business to care for...
