God's Word seems to suggest that man is unable to, of his own strength, come to God, nor of his own strength remain in communion with God, and must rely on the imputation of Christ alone, through the grace and glory of God alone, not his own meritorious cooperation and strength, in order to be seen ...

So true. God wants us to know and love Him and gave us the full choice to deny this purpose. Love cannot be forced, lest it's more akin to Stockholm syndrome. He gives us this choice so we can truly love Him, with our whole soul and will. You can't MAKE someone love you, that's never love.
