We need to stop focusing on patents or copyright. We need to stop putting public funds into startups. They 're a *loss* to NZ in almost every single case. They either fail (80% of them - a total loss) or they get acquired by foreign investors and everything of value is moved offshore. The dogmatic support for this stuff, and the idea that 'foreign investment' is good for NZ is absurd. It's good for the *investors* - no one else. NZ is being exploited at every turn due to us having bad policy.
