That's so funny because I have used Ubuntu for the better part of the last decade and it always manages to kill itself during an update, or just for no reason whatsoever. . I've been much happier with NixOS on my desktop.

I could maybe agree with you for a server though, my Ubuntu server from 2018 was pretty stable up until I replaced it last moment.

Ubuntu is a derivative and the stability is nowhere close to Debian. I used it for a while and it definitely gets included in my "irresponsible to recommend to noobs" list.
