Continuing on this line of thought and playing a kind of weird devil's advocate for the socialists: It's the State that's the problem regarding community experimentation, whether you're on the extreme left, the extreme right, or some other dimension. ALL governments are basically socialist systems already - So the outright blatant socialists naturally try to use this existing aligned lever to further their ideological aims. Why would they go elsewhere when this thing right here is already going in their direction?
It's the libertarians that end up looking silly. The goal of trying to make a socialist government into a more libertarian one - putting aside the fact that a libertarian government is an incoherent concept - is a stupid one. but they somehow also seem unmotivated to go build their own thing somewhere.

i'm sort of rambling, so here's a closing tangent: absolute privacy, cryptoanarchy, darknet market maximalism, practical agorism - these are the only paths forward.
