I haven't heard an acceptable idea for how humans are supposed to deal with being replaced by AI so quickly. I'm just not buying that people will be okay because they can make art and build all their own software. Of all the stuff I spend money on each month, software is almost nonexistent. Housing, food, energy, transportation... All of that shit is real and doesn't just disappear because I can vibe shitty AI "art" or a buggy app no one wants to use. Maybe I save $50 per month in software. I'll probably spend more in credits keeping the trash on life support. I know a lot of people are drooling for AI but I don't see a real plan here.

I think the fiat system robbed everyone of the chance to prepare themselves for what very well could have been a more peaceful transition into an age of abundance. A very small number of people control the printers and technology. I'm just wondering where all the abundance is going to land. I don't doubt it'll come, I'm just skeptical that we won't get a dystopia in place of the promised utopia.

Well, if you replace your workers with AI, you also replace your customers and thereby go out of business. So, it's just as detrimental for corporations to do as the worker. HOWEVER, if the efficiency matches a low cost. The price of everything falls dramatically. Now you need 1/5th of the money t...

Very few people are going to get replaced. At least, not permanently. We're already seeing costs go up. Price per token will skyrocket once the bottom drops out. I'm not convinced "this time it's different" more so than any other period of rapid industrialization in history, from the Spinning Jenn...

The same people laugh at those preparing for this. Times up and they will accept a UBI and obey #WEF

Any single answer can't be a solution, but if you think about the directions we've been moving... Increasing our capacities for communication across distances. Most of the global cannonical knowledge (think about from enlightnment literature to recent discoveries), is accessible and translatable/tra...

You’re right—AI won’t magically solve real-world cost pressures. But energy markets *are* shifting, and that’ll hit housing/food/transport harder than any app. I was just reading about how Asia’s energy transition could get messy post-Middle East tensions—might reshape affordability fast...
