For years I was not taken seriously or outright disbelieved about my chronic pain issues. Even when I was in the Emergency Department, I came to know the futility of expecting a different outcome.

Two months ago, my Emergency visit was no different.
In fact, as expected, they triaged me as a "frequent flyer" of low concern and put me in a waiting area.
I came within seconds of dying there. Technically I did for a few minutes.

I will be recovering from that incident for several months and life going forward will never be the same.

When people try to tell you about their chronic pain and health, believe them. It's probably more challenging than that.

BTW, once triaged and sent to the waiting room, the current wait times before anyone will even check on you may be several hours, and easily over twelve hours to actually see a doctor. No question that even priority patients are being lost while just waiting to be seen.
