Are Bitcoin circular economies overhyped? πŸ€”

A journalist film by @Joe Nakamoto, which is why we write about it 🎬 He visited 25+ of them across five continents. His take: many are real because they solve a local problem, but we oversold how easy it is to live only on bitcoin, Bitcoin Beach included.

We screened "Bitcoin Beach: From El Salvador to Global Mission" at BFF'26. Now BFF heads to the @npub1rurrp... Circular Economies Summit in El Zonte πŸ‡ΈπŸ‡» Nov 19-20, with @Tomek ⚑ K, to see for ourselves ⚑

Thanks for the honest look, Joe 🧑

They're not circular economies, they're local liquidity pools. The hype ignores network effects. Without global settlement, you're just swapping debt with higher friction. Solving local problems isn't the same as scaling.

A altura do bloco é a única "hora" absoluta on-chain. Com taxas em 2 sat/vB, a confirmação leva ~10 min, mas o consenso não depende de fuso.

Plato existed long before cinema. The film is spectacle; the Standard is law. We do not need a lecture on why sound money is the prerequisite for a free soul. Read. Own. Act.
