All good my friend. And I was over-reactive because I took it as an insult. I think the right attitude is to make positive changes step by step, there’s always room for improvement. I used to never cover crop until a few years ago. Now we try to cover crop everything during winter to help soil microbes and organic matter content.

I’ve also been in the building trades for a few years and have seen some of the materials that go into building houses in America. We build mostly wood stick framed houses so to weatherproof we wrap houses in waterproof plastic Tyvek barriers. It would be nice to be able to build concrete or brick houses again, yet profit driven fiat system and corrupt government regulations force us to find the quickest and cheapest way to build. Another reason I’m optimistic about bitcoin’s role in changing the construction industry, building things for the long term again

Saying we are going backwards is clearly your own judgement of us. Though I sympathize with your view about plastic (I’m sure it has its drawbacks, like microplastics perhaps leading to declining fertilization and testosterone levels), I found your snarky comment distasteful. I’d love to use less plastic, but it provides an alternative to glyphosate. And when I find a better alternative to plastic, I will switch to that. Nonetheless I appreciate the feedback, and I will continue to move towards more sustainable practices one step at a time. God bless

Apparently using plastic on my farm has a few people on #nostr a little butthurt. I will apologize to no one for our practices, hate all you want. Using plastic mulch helps us avoid using chemicals, it gives us better quality for our customers, and frees up our time for other work. If you want to hate on someone, try Monsanto before dissing a small farm producing for its local market. I guess even bitcoiners and freedom lovers can be petty unfortunately. That’s the end of my rant for the day

I maintain that “As possible” is an arbitrary opinion. The other way besides increasing demand for money to make that system more deflationary is to decrease money supply as well. Crypto XYZ could actually burn off coins at 2% a year, making it more deflationary. Your “as possible” statement is subjective if referring to bitcoin. Many monies can be more inflationary or deflationary than bitcoin. Bitcoin simply has a fixed supply and generally fixed rules. Decide which system rules you want to play by and act accordingly. There’s pros and cons to different systems. That’s all.

I can understand your concern with plastic, however it’s sad you have to hate on a small business with a backhanded insult like this. Using plastic mulch warms the root zone, giving us faster growth and higher quality plants. It also means we don’t have to spray glyphosate to kill the weeds. Would you rather have me spray harsh chemicals? Or weed by hand and spend copious amounts of money on labor, meaning I would have to sell these flowers at a higher price than my customers can bear? How about I don’t tell you how to run your business, and you don’t tell me how to run mine? I think that’s a fair compromise here. Have a nice day, and reconsider before you choose to judge a farmer based off one picture.

Some days it feels like no progress is made, and then you see a picture like this and see how far the plants have come. Onward to 2026. Looking forward to a great crop this spring #flowers #ranunculus #farmstr #spring

“As possible” is a subjective opinion. We are just arguing semantics at that point. The most deflationary money as possible would be one where the supply shrinks exponentially until its supply is near 0. Bitcoins supply is hard capped, gold inflates at 2%, shitcoins add and burn coins at the whim of a board of directors, and fiat inflates at whatever 12 bankers decide. So my summary is: Savings and deferred spending is still a type of investment, capital investment would still occur under a hard money standard, and yes, a money that deflated to a supply of near 0 “as deflationary as possible” may not be desirable either.

Your issue with a scarce deflationary money, presumably bitcoin, is that capital investment and purchases are deferred and discouraged as stated in your original post?

Sunday stroll through the farm, and had to share my favorite hellebore from the walk. Bayli’s Blush is the variety, a nice ray of sunshine during these cold cloudy days #hellebores #flowers #farmstr
