"The plan to negotiate first with the largest party is ridiculous. Opportunity should focus on the parties it believes it could join in government in order to best advance its programme."

Can anyone recommend a good music player app for Android/Linux?
So far I've been using the #VLC media player in F-Droid, which is functional, but the UX isn't great. Particularly when it comes to ma...
@nprofile1q... is your music stored separately from non-music?
Opus 1 player allows directory selection, and optionally using a database separate from android's media dB.
Has companion tag editor, and scanner

Is anybody in the local timeline (only NZ) actually using open Android alternatives to Google, (/e/os, Lineage, Graphene, Calyx) as a daily driver? Can we have a thread on sources, hardware, network i...
@nprofile1q... Yes I am. Currently running /e/OS on «whispers» Google pixel 7.
Still have it installed on an older samsung, but had to upgrade because specifically Samsung and VoLTE doesn't work with 3rd party roms (also the charge port was getting very dodgy).
I'm using murena cloud and email, used to be e. cloud (they do some things well, but naming isn't one of them!).
I have kiwibank and BNZ apps installed and working from the "AppLounge", but mostly use F-Droid

It seems remarkable that after all the concern that Chris Bishop was going to try to roll Chris Luxon... the real roll attempt came from *Chris*-frickin' Penk. What the actual hell. I'm pretty convinc...
@nprofile1q... Chris fired Chris for trying to replace him with Chris to compete against Chris in the coming election
😬 sick of commentators saying that the Green Party (of NZ) should stick to their knitting / get back to being tree-huggers etc.
They're basically describing a pressure group rather than a serious political party, and saying that there should never be a green-led government.
The same talking heads would be saying that a party lacking policies in finance or health etc is not a serious one.

However they are learning that if you scrape the bottom of the barrel and find a candidate like Stuart Nash, you can end up with a big headache.

@nprofile1q... apparently my MenzShed was using MS365 on a ?free? tier, and this has just been shut off without clear warning (that anyone is aware of). I.e. all access suddenly terminated.
Word is that this has happened to maybe 1000s of charities in NZ (Nth hand hearsay so I can't confirm)

One magic incantation that does this on a linux commandline (might work on mac or WSL - IDK)
du -h . | sort -h
List files in current directory and its children in size order, biggest last

I have opened FreeCAD for the first time
start your clocks to when I decide I hate it, like every other 3D editing program I have ever used
@nprofile1q... I have this in my procrastination backlog (i.e. haven't worked though it myself yet), maybe helpful?

Since adding a couple of simple information requests to the "Why do you want to join this instance" signup question, and stating that applications that fail to include them will be rejected, I have rejected 100% of new signups in record time.
Looks like most of them are lifting the bio info from other existing fediverse accounts.

@nprofile1q... I found a picture of Luxon's mower - it cuts left, right, and centre.
Hopeful it will be binned later this year.
