Hopefully #bonefire respects and implements the activityPub specs, or will be able to agree on those with and for the fedi community.
(every once in a while it sounds like mastodon doesn't do that and just creates their own way)

Once stumbled into someone from Australia who wanted to setup with bonfire something like groups and I threw some info about friendica (and Mike).

Looked like bonfire was trying to do some prefinance round for coding and such (if I got that right).
Good for them if they manage to do that. At the same time sounds like kind dependemcy on capital and promises. To that regard friendica has a long track, or the longest track actally, of a working FOSS community.

Even tho tis is kinda offTopic, I wonder if the project should take a step back, take a deep breath and reconsider at least for the next release the goals as the previous idea to role out new releases in certain intervals (like ubuntu). Maybe I missed some conversation on this regard. Right now I'm nearly afraid to update servers over here as it looks like there is no real stable next step on the horizon and I wonder if it wouldn't be best to try to just hammer on bugs until the actual RC is as functionally sound as it can get and somehow create landmark release from where to go for RC versions until the next landmark, witch shouldn't have any kind of timely goal but only stability and as less bugs as possible in mind.
Like to say, change from the ubuntu style release approach to the core debian way.@Random Penguin @Michael 🇺🇦 @hypolite

Hi there,
just a general question about connecting and using email with friendica in publications.

Any observations or experiences with respect to use the same email address as the profile address?

Like to say, should there be expected any problems when using an email address with the name @[email protected] from the friendica helpers profile to publish content to the fedi and at the same time from that email address to email contacts? As the address itself looks the same in both systems, email and fediVerse, I wonder if that could lead to errors somewhere.

One time at least I got a message by google docs to an email account that stated that the email was mentioned in a doc because google identified it as an email address while actually the creator of the doc was just taking notes for a podcast, stating that he was going to talk about that specific fedi profile with the same address.

Site not reachable.

Hi there, experiencing a strange problem and couldn't find any hint in a search on github or in the helpers forum. When calling any page on tupambae.com (friendica 2024.12), the site displays a blank page in the direction /lander.

This happened first a day ago and than disappeared, now it looks like it's permanent.

Any idea?

What (dubious) video, audio and podcast services do you know? Background: For some time now I'm working at the embedding of remote media (audio and video). It is now massively improved in the RC, but...

Castopod

In general terms it publishes audio, actually also into the fediVerse via activitypub. Somehow it doesn't embeed the image as supposed, at least in the past. We published some time agi the difference betweenhow mastodon displayes a castopod audio and how friendica does it. Apparently there was some diference how the diferent platforms use the activitypub specs. It also is able to broadcast video, even tho this is restricted to an image and kinda subtitels.

Hi there,
some questions about the behavior of friendica with respect of preserving the content of posts from other servers and other #fediVerse platforms.

There are several options in #friendica to mark posts. There is staring a post or an answer, there is interacting with it like giving a thumbs up or done (like\dislike) and answering, saving to a folder and sharing or resharing a post. Answers can't be stared but saved to a folder, shared and reshared.

What happens when a post or an answer is deleted y the owner of that post or answer?
There are posts from other instances that still are preserved over here even tho they don't exist anymore on the originating server.
What happens if answers are deleted by the owner of the answer? Also, somehow answers to answers are related and they do disappear at least when an answer is deleted locally on this server. Is the same true if an answer is deleted by the originating profile?

Also, have there been changes on the behavior on these aspects in friendica or are their discussion about changing some of those aspects?

My understanding was that if you STAR a post it should remain on your server regardless.
