Sultan Al-Nehdi, an Emirati traveler, has made a remarkable presence in the world of overlanding after covering thousands of kilometers in his car, traversing continents, and documenting his journeys on social media platforms. His aim is to showcase a positive image of Emirati youth and introduce their culture and identity to the world. Al-Nehdi's passion for overlanding began due to his love for open roads and the desire for exploration. Over time, this passion transformed into a way of life and a message he strives to convey through his journeys, highlighting the spirit of adventure and Emirati culture wherever he goes. His primary motivation behind his travels was to learn about the customs and cultures of different peoples and overcome the challenges of traversing thousands of kilometers off-road. Al-Nehdi emphasizes that his car is his primary means of travel, carefully preparing it to serve as a mobile home that accompanies him on all his adventures. These journeys are not just a means of entertainment, but also carry a humanitarian and cultural message, aiming to promote cultural understanding and spread a positive image of Emirati youth, in addition to the valuable life lessons they convey. He has already visited over 65 countries, covering various continents, from Europe to Asia, China, and Japan, as well as frequent trips within the Arab region. He describes these experiences as a mix of challenges and exceptional moments that have instilled in him the conviction that overlanding is a true school of life. Al-Nehdi notes that the biggest challenges he faced were the environmental and rough terrain, but he managed to overcome them through careful planning and self-reliance in repairing his car and dealing with unexpected situations. He emphasizes that the key lies in combining prior preparation and the ability to adapt to sudden changes. He adds that one of the most striking things he encountered during his travels was the cultural and traditional practices in some remote villages, where people still live in a way that is reminiscent of the 1950s. Despite the daily differences, he discovered that the great human values such as hospitality, respect, and kindness remain a common denominator among all peoples. Al-Nehdi concludes that overlanding has given him great confidence in himself and has equipped him with diverse skills in managing crises and repairing mechanical faults, relying on himself. He advises those who wish to embark on similar adventures to be meticulous in their preparation and not underestimate the small details, pointing out that his future plans involve continuing to document his journeys, expanding his travel content, and developing initiatives that cater to travelers and facilitate new adventures.
