It appears you still have to pay a year up front regardless of account being anonymous or not. I would love to be able to top up for a month like you can with Obscura and be able to get customer support with an anonymous account. Right now the lightning payment and anonymous account experience seems severely crippled by these limitations.

I think the random timestamp is to thwart one’s ability to infer conversation between two parties through time ranges. However, I never considered the usability impact as you described. I can definitely see how that’s frustrating.

I review a list of strengths especially the subset that I really care about that make me feel awesome. I also remind myself that no one, no matter how amazing, comes out fully formed. We all have to start somewhere. Finally, I try to focus in on my interests and passions. We all have to pass through sucking before we get good so what matters are interests. Interests takes the pressure off and lowers insecurity by shifting your mind towards play and fun.
