Eat my dust.

First client site. I wanted to see the people come in, so I got in early (7AM).

I COULD NOT FIND A PARKING SPOT!!!

Luckily, @nprofile1q... created the best pretext ever, "Fire alarm check from headquarters."

No one asked me any tough questions, and when I said there are special fire alarms in the server room, they left me there alone.

What do I do with the 1TB backup SSD I swiped from an unlocked network closet?

Damn. This quote from Linus Torvalds is... well... damning. In response to a discussion around use of generative AI as it relates to contributions to the Linux code base, Linus (creator and lead con...

@nprofile1q... If I were to put on my philosophy hat for a second, doesn't that prove him right? You may disagree with Linus on this point, but the stuff's good.
He may not see it as a fight for freedom, only as a technological playground to make the kernel better. You may not agree with him, and that's okay. What would be wrong in my eyes is not using the kernel because someone disagrees.

I may not agree with the politics of a ton of people who provided software for my laptop, but that stuff is good, so I use it. If I only used software I agreed with, I'd be honestly fucked 😂

Moving from hacking/cyberpunk subculture to solarpunk subculture - what does fashion look like? Fashion both within popculture art (think the movies Hackers and things like Studio Ghibli or Disney's...

@nprofile1q... As for what I see as solarpunk, I have a very specific person in mind (being a rural kid): My dad on the weekend.

Jeans or suspenders overalls
Straw hat
Work boots

This was the attire I saw most where I lived. Fields and shit, so people working on machinery.

With the advent of small-scale farming and hydroponics, I can see some of the staples staying (jeans and flannel shirts), but I see the point as airflow+shade+function.

Been tackling things related to diet, eating, and weight, etc., now that I can breath a bit. Cool thing I found... I eat when I'm bored (a common thing). I like food. I eat food. I get a dopamine hi...

@nprofile1q... Nice! Get that bad bod!

For me, snus works. Chewing tobacco pouches, since they can stay in my mouth for hours and eating with them is no bueno. I know it's nicotine, but I'd rather be slim and addicted to nicotine than addicted to food.

Really great news!!! A local bakery that specializes in gluten free bread, pastries, and cakes reached out to us... ...we didn't reach out to them. They contacted us!... ...about doing food rescue...
m4iler the Boogeyman :debian: :t_blink: profile picture
@nprofile1q... These bakeries can be amazing.

An anecdote: I know a baker who serves both gluten-free and regular bread. When a person comes in with allergies and a "celiac card" (basically a card-carrying celiac), the prices for the fancy gluten-free bread costs the same for them as the regular bread.

His reasoning: "I get so many people coming in with no allergies who buy the gluten-free bread because they WANT IT I can afford to sell it at a lower price for people who NEED IT."
