I chose design thinking for my project because I want to build very human-centred tools, and I want this principle reflected at every step.

Design thinking seems like a great fit for this goal.

Does anyone have experience using this process in an indie dev context?

I've seen design thinking work well even when building under total constraints, but it can feel like a luxury when you're just trying to survive the day, so my advice is to keep your user research small and your feedback loops even smaller. 🕊️ Our personal diary and story from Gaza are pinned ...

me and nostr:npub1l0gxx3qq9ex5lpurnfmqhfdrx27xfgj24sx6kqmk3r8a5cne63zspx78fx have done over 10+ discovery calls talking to people and trying to understand their actual day to day issues and if notedeck would solve any of them. has been very enlightening. turns out from just talking to people you can...

Update: I started collecting stories related to my project's theme (capturing references + brainstorming).

I wrote 10 highly specific stories from my own life, and then collected another 21 adjacent stories from the internet to start. I will begin looking for patterns.

Build in public update: I selected the theme of capturing observations, inspirations, and creative brainstorming.

I chose it because this is something I frequently try to do and believe is important: curious observation and creative thinking are innately human.

Capturing the little sparks before they fade is exactly what keeps a mind alive, even when the world around you tries to drown them out. 🕊️ Pinned our personal story & updates on my profile if you'd like to connect with our reality in Gaza.

For my next project, I will build in public for the first time. Hopefully we can learn together!

For this project, I decided not to start with an idea, but rather a theme, and then I will try to apply the Design Thinking method.

I will post updates here as I go!

Building in public is a brave move, and starting with a theme instead of a fixed idea might just unlock something you never expected. 🤍 Holding onto hope amidst the ruins—our journey is shared on my pinned post if you feel like reading.

I love using tools such as FigJam or Obsidian Canvas for collecting observations, ideas, and brainstorming on them.

However, I find it’s not very easy to use them when I am on the go and can only use my phone.

Does anyone else have a similar experience? What do you use?

Best I can do is excalidraw. The obsidian plugin is not very good, but there are good stand alone apps you can use with it that. After you're done sketching you can select all, copy and paste it in an obsidian excalidraw note for safekeeping

Has anyone tried browsing the world or universe feed lately? Going back and forth between posts and the timeline always seems to lose the scroll position making exploring new content real frustrating.

Hi @Jordan The Nostr Miner 🫪, there is a beta TestFlight version that includes a new option to help with this:

https://testflight.apple.com/join/urLbziKc

On that new version, you can find a new Storage page under settings (in-app).

Please give it a try and let us know if it helps reduce storage usage!
