btw if your desktop CPU isn’t boosting particularly high for thermal reasons, you should check what your mainboard is doing to the voltage

not to get better performance but because most mainboard vendors have extremely aggressive defaults that will shorten your CPU’s lifespan, which given the market situation is probably something you want to avoid

messengers that keep connections open and cannot distinguish between important and unimportant messages will drain your batterythey’re lying to you. i have an irc client open 24/7 on sailfish OS, i’m in a few relatively active channels and connected to multiple networks, and it makes zero difference. if it’s just sitting there with notifications enabled the battery level drops by about 4-5% per day (it’s 5 years old and i always fast-charge to 100%)
