@nprofile1q... @nprofile1q... I disagree that they provide a service. Landlords are parasites who benefit unfairly off of others. They do the bare minimum (and sometimes not even that), while being compensated far beyond what their supposed services are worth.

And no, the government shouldn't replace landlords. Everyone should fully own a home, and that is well possible. We just need to ensure wealth is more fairly distributed, instead of continuously favoring those who already have too much.

In this case, as I already said in our more direct conversation, I think the bad just massively outweighs the good.

@nprofile1q... Fair, that is pretty bad for the environment, and also probably your wallet. Still, it's on a pretty different level.

LLMs have so many negatives, beyond just the environmental, which is already pretty bad, and the advantages seem miniscule. The scales tip too far to one side to consider it worth it.

I dunno, 'annoying' friends and family with something you're enthusiastic about seems more healthy and wholesome to me.

In the end, of course, you have to make your own choice.

And yes, politicians are always a sucky choice because it seems impossible to find one that only supports what you support.

But that doesn't mean we can't still reject some things. We don't need to accept the bad with the good about everything. Do you really lose so much by just not using LLMs anymore?
