• PiS spent 8 years politicizing the courts
• European courts found some judges were improperly appointed
• The government promised to roll the changes back
• The PiS-backed president blocked some new judges
Now a political judge got moved to sideline the Tribunal’s leadership. PiS screams “assault on democracy”, when it was them.
tl;dr PiS fucked up courts. This government is trying to fix it, but it’s impossible to do cleanly... and they’re politicians too. 🤨
