@nprofile1q... AFAIK there isn't a great add-on HUD product. The best was Navdy. They're long out of business, but folks have hacked it's firmware and the associated iOS app. The biggest issue today is that the map rendering doesn't work with the latest format data from HERE and I'm not sure anybody has been motivated enough to work out how to update that part of the code. /r/navdy is the spot to find out more.
@gruber Their example of good/bad icon use in menus seems off.
Monday-Sunday would almost always logically be either a set of radio buttons or a segmented-control (if multi-selection is valid).
Multiple-selection UIs logically like segmented controls don't belong in pull-down menus. (Arguably ok in a context menu because that's for advanced users already.)
Is there space for a checkmark to the left of those items in the image? Doesn't look like it.

@nprofile1q... Yeah, I'm glad they're finally doing something and a few details are well-done like @Scriptable, but obv disappointed that it's a much weaker solution. (And the lies I was told by management on the way out.)
@nprofile1q... HomeKit doesn't presume spotty connectivity/poor implementation and try harder to achieve the desired end state.

@nprofile1q... This window is a perfect example of slop UI that shouldn't have been shown. Terrible metrics, some kind of oddball non-Mac close box, Back instead of Cancel, etc.
Kinda embarrassing to show off UI that looks slop-generated. (Origami, a few new bits of Xcode itself, etc.)
