Also, choosing Bangkok for a 3 day layover from Sydney to Amsterdam may have been the best idea I've had in my life.
@nprofile1q... For me it's either at least a two night layover somewhere or ensure I land at destination in the evening to deal with jetlag, even if it's more expensive and with a worse airline.
@nprofile1q... I don't think it's that simple. Big countries like Russia have large portions of their population already living in what you would consider societal collapse. To them it's just the shit world they live in and always will live in. It will just get a little bit shittier over time instead of getting a little better. This is why those parts of the population keep signing up for certain death military contracts and why their families are ok with them dying for the money. Russians are just cynically resigned to their fate. Putin knows this. He won't entertain a ceasefire, he thinks he can keep up this slow burn until he gets his name in the history books for reuniting the Soviet union.

@nprofile1q... They look impressive so I just looked them up. Down here they are an eye watering $110 local dollars for two. All my double walled glassware was eventually found in the dishwasher cracked and its cavity filled with water so that would be a scary purchase. I really like my thick walled tulip knockoffs in. They are indestructible and I like randomly matching cup and saucer colours.
