I've just read that Dolly Parton, in addition to the 3000-odd songs she wrote that we know about, also has a whole unreleased back catalogue of material she intended to be released posthumously to keep her estate funded, so her philanthropic work could continue after her death.

It's often said that James Brown was the hardest working man in the music industry. Well, I think Dolly must have been the hardest working woman.

I wish more magicians were politically engaged, because pranking Flock cameras with alarming illusions that waste police resources to investigate and generate viral media headlines - thus revealing the growing extent of state and corporate surveillance - sounds like good trouble, to me.

The vicious media furore around former professor Jason Arday, the first Black professor at Cambridge, erupted after another academic, the self-defined "race realist" Nathan Cofnas, was sacked from his Cambridge role in 2024. He told the press he found some instances of plagiarism in Arday's work.

Cofnas's job had been terminated amid a backlash to his view that under a "true" meritocracy, Black people would "disappear from almost all high-profile positions outside of sports and entertainment".

Pervert glasses are now also banned in courts in England and Wales. They'll be yet another flop for Zuck as the stigma grows.

@nprofile1q... That 48% figure refers to foreign-born lead tenants across the whole of London, not central London specifically.

Plus being born outside the UK does not make someone a "foreigner". Roughly 68% of those foreign-born tenants hold a British passport.

Edit: "Welfare dependent" is also misleading, as a significant majority of these tenants are in work, yet still can't afford to live without assistance such as the housing element of Universal Credit. This isn't their fault.

Because I walk everywhere and know this city like the back of my hand, it probably wasn't the best idea to ask me for directions like this: "Oh thank fuck mate, it's all p*kis around here, I'm just trying to get to the city centre, is this the right way?".

It was the right way. He just had to keep walking.
