You shouldn't use AI for art because you are robbing yourself of the fun of making something yourself and learning a skill set. Not because of some enigmatic magical touch that only humans can give. There are many different art forms. You can produce something much more interesting than a cookie cutter response from AI. The interesting aspect comes from knowing You made it. And don't start with the "oh but I made the prompt" argument, ok. Knowing how to phrase things and provide context is a skill, but if you want to tell something to make art for you find someone who has the drive to make it themself. AI art is just boring, dudes.

Fire Emblem comes out before my bday but I am saving for a standalone tablet so I can do digital art on the go, in an effort to get myself out of the house. The temptation....

It's important to have hobbies besides consuming something. What I mean is that creative hobbies are good for you. Whether it's code, knitting, illustration, or cooking; When you create something it fills that time you spent with a tangible thing you can look at and say you Made. I am not immune to the consuming hobbies (gaming, reading, the dreaded scrolling) so this isn't like some holier than thou bit.

I just think it's important that we flex our creative muscles. And yes sometimes without AI being involved at all. The brain deteriorates if not used.

I love that I can get bursts of wanting to interact on Ditto and then go months without saying anything. And there's no FOMO.
