To practice science, we have to make generalizations. We also have to make generalizations in areas where we cannot apply science. To find the most popular phone, we can collect statistics, and when we can't, we can rely on our observations.

Practicing science leads us into the misconception that everything must be examined through the scientific method. Science itself is not absolute. Science itself is a generalization. Compared to logic, it is practical. Sometimes, not doing science is practical.

Bilim yapmak, her şeyin bilimsel yöntemle incelenmesi gerektiği yanılgısına bizi düşürüyor. Bilimin kendisi de kesin değildir. Bilimin kendisi de genellemedir. Mantığa kıyasla pratiktir. Bazen bilim yapmamak pratiktir.

The fundamental purpose of logic is to show you how to reach definitive conclusions (which must not be misleading) based on the information given to you (in logic, we call this information "premises").

Knowing logic doesn't make you rock-solid. That is not the purpose of learning logic. You can always experience psychological issues. The reason we learn logic is to learn how to think correctly. This way, we can avoid fallacies to some extent.
