Thanks, yeah I found that - but none of those changes adjust how bunched up they all are. Is there not a way to hide the counts and just have the icons? And even when I remove/hide some of the actions...

Yes there is, Settings -> Customizations -> Feed settings you can disable or enable or reorder the actions as pleased.

I used the Concept2 iOS app to sync and check for updates. Pretty slow that way, took 15mins. Have used the USB flash method in the past, much faster and super easy.
