For now I think the best option is GrapheneOS on a Pixel. There are some Linux phone options but they're not as consumer friendly. Otherwise mobile OS is pretty limited.

Linux for PC, which has many different distributions for choice there. Linux Mint is an ok starter.

Getting APKs directly from source is ideal. Zapstore and Obtanium still excel for this. Although I suspect GitHub will soon need a replacement as well, but that is for app developers to determine.

Most people who use stock Android will not care and will send their biometric face pics every week if requested.

Those who are not retarded and have a choice understand that this is a losing battle. The only path forward is to switch to open source platforms with personal sovereignty as the primary focus. Complaining to Google is pointless. New systems have to be built out.

It is not yet open source. I was reading their Terms recently with the same question.

I am not sure why it is so popular even though it is a closed ecosystem. Seems to be an odd choice for any sovereign individual's use.
