Separate money and state.

I don’t mind if a government decides they want to declare Bitcoin as legal tender or move to a Bitcoin standard.

They just don’t get to control it any more than any other user.

I can't believe Sheep Detectives used "500 Miles" in its trailer, and didn't include the song on its soundtrack! That's false advertising, I tell you!

Mainly I just want to hear that arrangement in full, without the dialogue.

I figured out what bothers me about the Atlas Shrugged book covers that use the Atlas statue from Rockefeller Center:

He’s still holding the world up.

That misses the point of the book (spoilers). Atlas is done carrying the weight of a thankless world. He’s exiting their corrupt system and joining the strike.

I’ve caught myself doing this, too. We’ve lost trust in what happens with kept records.

It’s a really weird feeling when I don’t text/email a thought to someone because I don’t want the written record of it, or even call them because we can’t agree on an encrypted call protocol. “I’ll tell them the next time I see them.” Then I need to remember to tell them, which creates the very sort of mental noise that technology was supposed to help us eliminate.

Could this lead to a resurgence of in-person communication? Maybe. Still need to be mindful of who’s listening/watching.
