Truth. And its not particularly a "left-wing" problem. The Corporation is just the State writ small, and thus we in the West have misallocation of capital and mispricing of goods as bad as the Soviet...

I’m actually looking forward to seeing how the datacenters in space idea works out. Companies are welcome to give it a try and see if the bet pays off. It’s an interesting solution to the power, real estate, and water (cooling) that everyone objects to. Everyone wants the benefits of datacenters, but wants them someplace else.

So much gaslighting going on. Good grief.

Lots of compassionate folks trying to help, but lots of folks saying that if you didn't flip 1,000 coins to generate your own entropy, or read through every line of code used by your wallet, every library it uses, and the OS stack down to the kernel, then you're a naive fool and it's your own fault if your coins get stolen.

This is the time to come together and iterate on best practices. More attacks will come. If someone got drained, they're feeling shaken. They need support. They don’t need you throwing "dOn'T tRuSt; VeRiFy” at them.

I spent the last week on vacation. Before leaving, I asked myself whether I should take my hardware wallets with me. “Nah, I'm not going to need them. I’ll just lose them.”

I woke up Friday (Thursday? It's a blur.) to multiple emails and texts alerting me to the COLDCARD bug. I was three states away from mine.

Had a good conversation with the wife and kids on the drive home. Listened to Natalie's emergency PSA episode. Talked about Bitcoin, cryptography, and Rudyard Kipling's “If”.

Fortunately, I wasn't drained. The coins are moved to another wallet while I learn how to level up the Op Sec. Still emotionally exhausted. Every wallet is now suspect. No sense of security at all.
