@nprofile1q... Team 2mm banana connectors represent!

I use 3:1 or 4:1 marine heat shrink with adhesive. It stays in place, and is stiffer, so it protects better against solder embrittlement.

I use 2mm banana connectors for radiating elements, not just radials, and I put a loop of dacron twine on the female end to easily tie to my throw weight line. The marine heat shrink holds it in place. I also shroud the female end entirely in heat shrink which distinguishes it handily from the male end without needing a different color of heat shrink.

I use the same technique for links in linked antennas, too, with the same dacron twine carrying the load.

(For my elevated radials that are held up by tension, I used 4mm banana plugs for additional holding force.)

@nprofile1q... Whereas I generally like the GTK ecosystem and my GNOME involvement goes all the way back to being part of the team that first integrated GNOME into Red Hat Linux (as it then was). I don't think it's terrible.

From time to time I try KDE and keep discovering that it's not for me. No disrespect intended; I just prefer GNOME.

I don't think it's generally unhealthy; I am complaining about one particular exception, from my point of view. When I say "exception" I'm not making a claim of uniqueness, but I am saying that it's exceptional in my own experience.

If I weren't overall happy with it, I'd be using something else and my top post would never have been written, because I wouldn't have run into the nuisance.

It's the fact that I like the ecosystem overall that makes that post even possible.

You do you, we have different preferences.

Updated to Fedora 44, and discovered pretty quickly that middle click is disabled. ๐Ÿคฎ

Not a big fan of Jordan Petridis right now. The attitude in his pull request was not awesome. Next I expect GNOME will remove the ability entirely with the excuse that "nobody uses it" since that was also used as part of the excuse for disabling it by default, calling all of us who use it a "nobody" which is kind of disrespectful.

They didn't even add it to settings. The repair is not particularly discoverable.

For everyone else caught by this mess, the incantation is:

gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.interface gtk-enable-primary-paste true
